Laser Hair Removal Back

Unlike shaving, waxing, or tweezing, laser hair removal treatment can help you get rid of unwanted hair permanently from most parts of the body. Dr. Seegobin Laser Hair Removal Clinic offers permanent laser hair removal using an advanced treatment called IPL. This state-of-the-art equipment-Harmony from Alma lasers is effective in the treatment of a variety of skin complexions. It can safely inhibit future hair growth by 70 to 95% with little discomfort. The Harmony Technology has a cooling mechanism that creates a comfortable experience for our patients. However, laser hair removal can also be used to permanently reduce the amount of hair on any part of the body.

Call 905-303-0666 today to find out more about hair removal and their complete laser treatment. Dr. Seegobin Laser Hair Removal Clinic has 2 convenient locations to serve you better. We are located in Woodbridge and Georgetown, and serve both men and women in Vaughan, Brampton and Halton Hills-Oakville, Thornhill and Richmond Hill.

Laser Hair Removal is an excellent option for individuals who would like to permanently reduce the amount of unwanted hairs in a specific area of the body such as the arms, legs, face, back, hands, chest or bikini.

Although the best candidates for Laser Hair Removal are those with lighter skin complexion, the Harmony Laser can be effective for darker skin tones. Men and women with grey, white, red, or blond hair may not benefit from laser hair removal because lighter hair colours do not absorb the energy transmitted by the laser beam as easily.
Under the direction of Dr. Seegobin, we may suggest that you apply a local anesthetic cream 1 hour before your procedure to minimize discomfort. As the laser is passed over the treatment area, a stinging sensation or like a rubber band snapping on the skin sensation may be felt. The amount of skin sensitivity will depend on the area being treated.

After a laser treatment, it is not uncommon to see tiny black dots in the hair follicle, which represent residual hairs that typically fall out within 1 to 3 weeks. Sun exposure should be limited for 4 to 6 weeks before and after treatments. Sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher should be applied regularly.

Although individual results can vary, most people notice less hair after just one laser treatment. For better results, Dr. Seegobin recommends approximately 6  to  8 sessions every 4-6 weeks, depending on individual circumstances.
Are there any side effects?
Most people will not have problems after their treatment. However, some may experience redness and swelling in the treated areas while others may notice brownish crusting a few days after their laser treatment. These symptoms are temporary and usually resolve within 1-7 days.

Other less common side effects include hyperpigmentation or skin darkening. This can often be prevented by avoiding sun exposure and wearing sunscreen before and after your treatment. Blisters are also rare but may appear in less than 10% of patients. Very rarely, hypopigmentation or whitening of the skin in the treated area may occur.

What other options are available?
Some people who choose Laser Hair Removal may choose to use a gel to enhance hair removal but this is not necessary. This can be prescribed.
